We have six UK residential centres all located in areas of outstanding natural beauty. Their locations help tailor the effectiveness of our impact.
Participants leave the familiar behind and head to the wild hills, lakes and lochs. They take on adventures, overcome challenges and learn about leadership, teamwork and resilience. Often these experiences can be life changing. Explore our centres and the surrounding landscape below.
This outdoors education centre stands above the fishing village of Aberdovey, overlooking the Dovey Estuary. It has easy access to the mountain ranges of mid-Wales and has its own water front activity centre.
Outward Bound Eskdale is used almost exclusively for our work with apprentices, graduates and young people at the start of their careers.
The centre opened in 1950 and being located on the western coast of the Lake District, it's the perfect wilderness location for our learning and development programmes.
Our Howtown Centre provides modern, purpose built accommodation. Situated a stones throw from Lake Ullswater and with private jetty facilities, it couldn’t be easier to begin your journey on the water.
You’ll be surrounded by the imposing High Street Fell - a former Roman road and some of the Lake District’s classic climbing crags.
Set in extensive grounds on the shores of Loch Eil, this is our most remote outdoor education centre and a former shooting lodge once owned by the Chief of the Clan Cameron. Close to Fort William and some of Europe's most beautiful and remote true wilderness, it’s ideal for adventure, walking and canoeing while nearby Ben Nevis is the venue for many of our climbing activities.
Ogwen Cottage is our first 'exclusive use' centre. The centre is situated on the shores of Lake Ogwen, nestled between Carneddau and Glyderau mountain ranges. With stunning views and endless expedition opportunities, Ogwen is the perfect location for challenging and highly adventurous outdoor learning courses
Set in 18 acres of woodland at the heart of Wordsworth country, our Ullswater outdoor education centre is based on the north shore of the lake. Participants can canoe or kayak on the lake, and enjoy a stay in our high mountain lodge as part of an expedition to climb Helvellyn - one of The Lake District's highest peaks.
