Alan Haigh - Eskdale, The Lake District, 1966

I was a Police Cadet in Bradford City Police when I attended the course at Eskdale. I hope to visit the centre this November 2010.

I think it was around April 1966 when I attended. I remember having a choice of either running around the tarn at around 6.0am before jumping in or a cold shower.

I had a fantastic time and lost a stone in 26 days. It was brilliant for my confidence and chosen profession. I still have my diary somewhere. I have now been retired for 10yrs having reached Acting Inspector.

I have many fond memories of Eskdale and I still have my tie. I am not sure if any of my friends on the course are still around.
