Barry Stockton - Eskdale, The Lake District, 1966
Eskdale Course E165 - 5 September 1966
Young Patrol - Instructor John Dawson, assistant Eric.
I was an apprentice computer technician at Ferranti Ltd, Wythenshawe, Manchester.
All apprentices were able to attend Outward bound and it was regarded as 'character building'. Well they weren't wrong.
Before arriving in Eskdale I had thought i was reasonably fit .... oh no i wasn't. I lost about one and a half stone to achieve my optimum weight of eleven and a half stone at six feet tall. Wonderful memories of ascending Sca Fell and many other peaks.
I wonder what the rest of the patrol are doing now.
Mike, Paul, Kel, Ian and my orienteering partner, 'Nudger' Wright.
