Christopher Guy - Aberdovey, Wales, 1972

Guy
I left school in 1971 and joined the Gas Board as an office clerk. This soon became very boring and I felt I was going nowhere. Fortunately they decided to sent me on an Outward Bound Course to see if I had any leadership potential. The Course was fantastic , it opened my eyes , it made me realise I could do so much more in my life other than spend the next 30 years behind a desk. On return from the course I handed in my notice and joined the Fire Service and spent the next 42 years fighting fires . It has proved to be one of the best decisions of my life and would probably never have happened without the confidence gained from the Outward Bound Experience. Thank you .
