Martin Green - Moray Sea School, Burghead Scotland, 1970
I was an Air Training Corps cadet, with an offer of a University Cadetship and a commission in the RAF. I was sent by the RAF to the Moray Sea School for a month in 1970, course M201.
We learned to sail from first principles on dipping luggers, spent 3 days camped on Cairngorm, learned Judo, rockclimbing, abseiling and canoeing. We put on muscle, became disciplined, reliable and fit.
I took up my Cadetship in 1972 at Manchester University and went on to serve as an officer in the RAF until 2012. Outward Bound was the first step - it gave me the confidence to tackle anything, work in a team and lead. I would recommend it to anyone.
