Rob Palmer - Ullswater, The Lake District, 1962

The course took place in February 1962. We were informed that in that month we had trecked around 200 miles. the weather was inclement to say the least. Snow, rain and general changeable weather. It was only the last day that we had the early morning plunge led by Major Blashford-Snell. It was hard at the time but I still have fond memories of the companionship of those times.
