Stephen Corrick - Devon on Ashburton, 1968
My enduring memory of my four week O.B. course was arriving at Ashburton on Sunday evening and being confronted by a large case containing a cup. Under the cup were the words "This is the Richard Cadwallader Trophy. An Instructor at this centre, who lost his life whilst attempting to save two of his students, whilst abseiling at Berry Head." "Don't worry" said my own instructor, "We're not going to Berry Head until Wednesday." A great four weeks!
