The closure of several Kingswood centres last week is deeply concerning for everyone who believes in the value of outdoor education. It’s a stark reminder of the challenges our sector faces, even as we continue to champion life-changing experiences for young people.

Kingswood has long been a part of the outdoor education landscape, giving young people the chance to step beyond the classroom and into new experiences. Their contribution has been significant, and our thoughts are with the staff, schools, and students impacted by this news.

At Outward Bound, we remain committed to the belief that outdoor learning is more important than ever, not just for individuals, but for society as a whole. Experiences in nature build resilience, strengthen communities, and equip young people with the skills they need to thrive. This belief drives everything we do.
