Head of Housekeeping
Head of Housekeeping - Ullswater
We're looking for a lead housekeeper to head up our friendly team at our Ullswater and Howtown centres. These two centres are on the lakeshore of Ullswater and every year thousands of young people come for a residential trip to Outward Bound.

Location: Outward Bound Ullswater and Howtown
Contract: Full time / permanent
Hours: 40 hours (no split shifts and most weekends off). Our 40 hour contract means a 40 hour working week. We don't expect you to work more than your contract as can often happen in hospitality.
Salary: £24,102 plus benefits (£11.59 per hour)
Holidays: 32 days a year (rising by a day a year to a maximum of 38 days)
What you'll be doing
- Clean and prepare rooms and ensure all public areas around the centre are kept clean
- Work to improve productivity and efficiency of room cleaning
- Inspection of work to ensure hygiene standards of cleanliness are met
- Reporting of any maintenance issues in room
- Control of stock ordering and linen management
- Carrying out training of new team members.

As part of the Hospitality Team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the high quality provision of housekeeping services to our two residential centres on the shores of Ullswater.
Young people come on residential outdoor learning and adventure programmes at Outward Bound to help them develop skills and behaviours that will help them throughout their lives. You'll play a very important role in making this experience as good as it can be, as knowing there is a warm, clean and friendly place to stay helps young people settle in and make the most of their week - whatever the weather!
