Thank you to our amazing partners...
Barratt Developments
Barratt Developments, the country’s largest housebuilder, launched a three year partnership worth a staggering £1,000,000 for Outward Bound in January 2020.
This new partnership will support 2,400 young people to develop the key employability skills needed to prepare them for the world of work and make a purposeful contribution to society.
Barratt Developments’ work will cover three main areas; providing funding to disadvantaged young people for residential courses, placing Barratt employees on the courses as mentors, and hosting the annual ‘Big Barratt Hike’.
AkzoNobel / Dulux
AkzoNobel are experts in making paints. And they're committed to creating brighter futures for young people all across the UK.
In supporting Outward Bound, they help young people to develop the leadership, confidence and resilience to succeed in their education and transition into the world of work. Dulux fund a range of Outward Bound courses through their partnership, company fundraising and a national marketing campaign through their network of Dulux Decorator Centres.
Most recently they've developed an initiative to help upskill aspiring painters and decorators – ensuring young people enter their industry with the skills they need to flourish and thrive. It’s all about adding colour to young people’s lives!
CNOOC
CNOOC are dedicated to providing young people with a range of pathways to create a better future for themselves, in their key business regions of Aberdeen and Uxbridge.
Our partnership enables young people to develop their personal and professional aspirations, with mentorship from CNOOC employees. Young people understand the employment opportunities that exist at CNOOC, and most importantly, the attributes they will need to create successful relationships in business and beyond.
DHL UK Foundation
DHL's Look into Logistics programme is for disadvantaged young people from their communities.
The programme aims to increase the participants’ confidence, develop their teamwork skills, raise their aspirations and increase their environmental awareness.
After an intro day at their school, the young people attend a week long residential at Outward Bound. They're supported throughout by DHL employees who provide encouragement and share their knowledge of the workplace. After the course, the students visit their local DHL site and attend a careers day which includes coaching on CV writing and interview skills.
